New capabilities built on Google Cloud Platform and Gemini Enterprise give developers a cloud-hosted IDE and remote access to live Ambarella silicon

Recent collaborations add models from leading providers including Ultralytics

An integration with ZEDEDA enables deploying and managing AI workloads across distributed device fleets

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ambarella, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMBA), an edge AI semiconductor company, today announced a significant expansion of the Ambarella Developer Zone ("DevZone"), adding a cloud-hosted integrated development environment (IDE), secure access to cloud-connected fleets of Ambarella SoC-based devices and agentic AI development capabilities powered by Gemini Enterprise, all delivered on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Recently announced collaborations with ZEDEDA and AI model providers including Ultralytics extend the same environment through model selection and fleet-scale deployment.

Ambarella launched DevZone at CES 2026 as an early-access program, bringing together the Cooper™ Model Garden, agentic blueprints, developer kits, documentation and technical resources at ambarella.com/developer. Hundreds of developers at enterprise customers, ISVs and OEM partners have engaged with the platform since launch, and the expansion announced today extends DevZone from evaluation into daily development work and into production deployment.

Cloud-Hosted Development and Live Device Sessions

The cloud-hosted IDE provides immediate access to Ambarella SDKs, documentation, optimized models and sample projects without local installation or configuration. From the same environment, developers can request a session on a cloud-connected fleet of Ambarella-based devices and run their build on live silicon, with latency, throughput and power measured under real-world operating conditions on the target hardware. These capabilities are available to early-access participants today, with developers onboarded in stages as the connected device fleet expands.

Agentic AI Development Capabilities

Agentic AI capabilities powered by Gemini Enterprise support developers throughout the development lifecycle, assisting with coding, documentation search, troubleshooting, workflow automation and application development. These capabilities complement the low-code and no-code agentic blueprints already available in DevZone for building the multi-agent workflows that Physical AI systems run in practice.

The expanded platform provides developers with:

  • A cloud-hosted development environment with immediate access to Ambarella tools, software and resources
  • Secure access to cloud-connected fleets of Ambarella-based devices for remote testing, validation and performance optimization in real-world conditions
  • Agentic AI development capabilities powered by Gemini Enterprise that accelerate coding, documentation, workflow automation, troubleshooting and application development
  • A cloud-to-edge workflow spanning prototyping, testing, deployment and lifecycle management of AI applications
  • Integration with Google Cloud Platform services to support scalable development, collaboration and deployment

"Developers evaluating an embedded AI platform need to see their own models and their own data running on the target silicon, and the time required to reach that point often determines how quickly a program moves forward," said Muneyb Minhazuddin, Customer Growth Officer at Ambarella. "The expanded Developer Zone removes the setup work and the hardware procurement that has traditionally preceded that milestone. Our partner collaborations extend the same environment through deployment and fleet management, so that a team can carry an application from a first experiment to a managed installed base without changing tools."

Expanding the Developer Ecosystem

The expansion also reflects Ambarella's continued commitment to an open and collaborative AI ecosystem, with recently announced collaborations extending what developers can build within DevZone.

Ambarella and Ultralytics have partnered to support Ultralytics YOLO models on Ambarella CVflow®-powered devices, giving developers a widely adopted computer vision model family on silicon designed for the power and thermal constraints under which edge products operate. The collaboration covers object detection, instance segmentation, image classification, pose estimation and oriented bounding box detection. Ambarella is also working with other model providers on generative models that support reasoning and decision-making on the device.

ZEDEDA pairs EVE-OS, the open-source edge operating system governed by the Linux Foundation, with its Edge Intelligence Platform, enabling AI workloads to be deployed, managed, monitored and updated across distributed fleets. Developers can now load EVE-OS onto supported Ambarella SoCs.

Common Architecture Across the SoC Portfolio

Development work carried out in DevZone transfers across the portfolio, because every Ambarella AI processor shares the CVflow architecture and the Cooper Developer Platform, allowing perception software, AI models and development workflows to move across silicon generations and performance tiers with minimal rework. Ambarella currently has 12 edge AI SoC families that support more than 200 AI model architectures in customer production, on an installed base of more than 50 million AI SoC units.

Availability and Demonstrations

The expanded Ambarella Developer Zone is being rolled out now and is expected to be generally available in Q1 2027 at ambarella.com/developer. Ambarella and ZEDEDA will demonstrate the integration at the AI Infrastructure Summit. Running on an Ambarella N1-655 platform, the demonstration shows a custom solution blueprint created, packaged and deployed to an Ambarella cluster, with the Ambarella YOLOX model pulled automatically from the ZEDEDA Edge Intelligence Platform Model Hub and made available to the runtime at startup.

About Ambarella

With an installed base of more than 50 million AI SoC units, Ambarella’s products are utilized in a wide variety of physical edge AI applications, spanning edge endpoint and edge infrastructure use cases including physical security, vehicle safety, telematics, autonomy, portable video, aerial drones, and other emerging robotic applications. Building on this footprint, Ambarella offers a full-stack edge AI platform, from highly optimized silicon and programmable software to AI agentic frameworks that coordinate perception, decision-making and control across devices.
